Southern California is continuing to build the hype for the 2012 campaign after signing top prospect Leonard Williams Wednesday morning.

The Florida native played strong side defensive end for Mainland High School in Daytona Beach and is ranked No. 13 overall at his position, according to Scout.com.

Williams will likely be used right away in 4-3 packages and situations to stop the run, but is also excellent at rushing the passer. At 6'5", 255 pounds, his speed and athleticism are one-of-a-kind, especially for an end.

The Under Amour All-American held more than 20 scholarship offers, including Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Miami, Tennessee, Cal and others.

Williams marked just the 12th commitment to Lane Kiffin's 2012 recruiting class. However, those 12 consist of one 5-star and nine 4-star athletes, including five ranked inside the Top 10 at their respective positions.

Six of the 12 signers play defense. The No. 3 overall middle linebacker in the nation pledged last May, while the No. 15 cornerback picked the Trojans in early January.
