Some of the NFL's most underrated running backs were victimized by injury, others by their words, others by their role as a backup and others for no reason at all.

Whatever the reason (if any exists), these players are deserving of as much praise as their fellow running mates who were voted into the Hall of Fame. After all, most of these players matched the production of some players currently enshrined in Canton.

As the running back position becomes more and more devalued with every “passing day” (pun intended), many backs that play bit parts will join the conversation of the most underrated backs in the league. But perhaps none of them will hold a candle to some of these underrated backs that were doing it long before the “feature back” went the way of the dinosaur.
