It seems silly to talk about the New Jersey Nets trading for somebody when most of the team is injured.
Mehmet Okur is out with back spasms, Brook Lopez is out with a broken foot and DeShawn Stevenson is out due to knee problems. Damion James is done for the season because of complications from surgery on a broken foot he suffered last year, and impressive rookie MarShon Brooks is also out indefinitely with a broken toe.
Every player on the Nets roster has missed at least one game this season except for little-used Sundiata Gaines, backup PF/C Shelden Williams, backup PF/C Johan Petro, Anthony Morrow and Jordan Farmar.
The Nets are desperate to get healthy and to find some legitimate starters to add to the starting lineup.
Their most pressing need is at small forward. New Jersey will have to get creative to swing a trade, but there are possibilities out there that can provide an instant spark to a team looking to cling to anything that would provide consistency.
