One of the best main events in the history of WrestleMania is within our grasp. It is on the WWE, as well as CM Punk and Chris Jericho to make that happen.
That starts with the Elimination Chamber. Punk needs to retain the title. On paper, they could book Jericho to win it and then defend his title against Punk at WrestleMania, but this storyline works best with Punk as the champion.
Cryptic videos like this one make the most sense with Jericho as the challenger going into WrestleMania.
This is a theme that Jericho repeated when finally uttering his first words.
If you really want to make an "end of the world" impact, there is no better place than at WrestleMania in a one-on-one match, which is an element that can't be overlooked.
This match will not be as special if the WWE throws a third person into it. First of all, triple threat matches for championships are generally not very good. They generally lack the special feeling of a classic one-on-one clash.
Second, you will not find a person in the WWE with the mic skills/in-ring combo to match Punk and Jericho. Throwing a third person into the fire with those two would only hurt the main event of the biggest show of the year.
Will CM Punk and Chris Jericho meet up at Wrestlemania?
These are two of the best mic workers the WWE has ever seen. Obviously other workers can cut great promos, but these two are unique.
Punk has the loose cannon element working for him. You never know exactly what he is going to say and that's what works perfectly. Jericho uses big words, speaks with a lot of intensity and brings a great sense of desperation to what he says.
If you bring these two together for a WrestleMania clash, you have something special. The promos will be spectacular and the match will back it up.
There are a lot of ways to bring us the match. It doesn't matter how it happens, but Punk needs to retain at the Elimination Chamber and go on to face Jericho at WrestleMania. Anything else would be a letdown.
