WrestleMania XXVIII has the looks to become one of the greatest pay-per-view events in the history of pro wrestling, even though it's only January.
That statement may be bold, but I feel that this year's event will be the gold standard of today's pay-per-view events because there are already three huge matches that seemed to be booked into the show.
Undertaker versus Triple H, the huge WWE championship match between two of the greatest in-ring performers of all-time and the main event when The Rock finally goes against John Cena will provide excitment like never before.
Those matches alone have me excited as hell for this pay-per-view, and I haven't been excited about a WrestleMania since 2007.
The WWE is beginning to make a turn for the better with the feuds they are pushing for in this big event. They are also making the road to the big show must-see television each and every week.
Fans haven't seen this sort of energy from the superstars and the live audiences in a long time.
I feel that the WWE might be on the verge of getting back into the mainstream media as a power company in sports entertainment.
We still have several more feuds that we haven't seen begin yet, but right now the WWE is determined to make this year's WrestleMania one of the greatest shows of all-time.
I feel that this year's show will top many of the excellent events of the past few year's and could even rival WrestleMania 3 when it comes to show quality and fan excitement because we are finally seeing passion in the shows again. I don't think we have seen that since 2006.
Now there are several things that the WWE needs to do before WrestleMania when it comes to filling out the card. But if the company makes this card solid from top to bottom, then I feel that fans will buy this event and it might pass WrestleMania 27 in 2007 as the most lucrative pay-per-view.
I hope the WWE continues the excellent booking between now and WrestleMania because I've got a strong feeling that this event might be the start of something amazing from the WWE when it comes to product quality.
I know that wrestling isn't as hot as it once was, but to get back to that popularity level you have to start with baby steps.
Having an amazing WrestleMania is a great start to making a comeback in the public's eye.
