World Football: Top 10 EPL Tall Guys

Tall guys in the EPL are a rarity. With small guys like David Silva running things in the league, height doesn't really matter.

While their height definitely gives them an advantage in one aspect of the game, for the most part it doesn't really help them surpass their colleagues.

If you think about it, these guys would only be considered either guards or at most a small forward in basketball.

Still, they are among the tallest in their sport and tallest in their league.

Here's a list of the Top 10 tall guys in the EPL.

Martin Fulop

Martin Fulop can take used to be the tallest goalkeeper in the league, coming in at 6' 6." He hasn't had much of a chance to show it this season, with only a few appearances in the Carling Cup to his name.

Peter Crouch

Peter Crouch comes in at 6' 7."

Crouch is the face of the tall guy club in the EPL. It was still like that, even after Nikola Zigic passed through.

Asmir Begovic

Asmir Begovic is 6' 5."

Even with Edwin Van der Sar gone, he is still in the No. 3 spot on the list of tall goalkeepers. That is, if we decide to go alphabetically.

Per Mertesacker

Per Mertesacker is the newest addition to the EPL tall guy club, standing at 6' 6." He added some much-needed height to Arsenal's back line.

Petr Cech

Petr Cech is one of the best goalkeepers around and his height definitely helps him. He is one of a few keepers who is as tall as 6' 5."

Nicklas Bendtner

Nicklas Bendtner is 6' 5" of arrogance.

Wonder if he would've liked going up against Per Mertesacker in training? He probably never will get the chance.

Wayne Hennessey

At 6' 5", the Wolves goalkeeper is one of the tallest in the league. Wayne Hennessey has been at the club his whole career and has seen competition from the likes of Marcus Hahnemann to remain the first-choice keeper at the club.

Wojciech Szczesny

Wojciech Szczesny comes in at 6' 5."

With that in mind, it's interesting to note that Arsenal actually has three of the tallest guys in the league right now. Okay, Nicklas Bendtner isn't actually at the club, but you get what I mean.

Zat Knight

Zat Knight is going to have to hold together the Bolton defence with Gary Cahill gone. His 6' 6" frame helps him command the air for Bolton.

Costel Pantilimon

10 of 10

Costel Pantilimon is the tallest goalkeeper and the tallest player in the league, coming in at 6' 8." He is the tallest for at least one season as he is currently on loan at Manchester City.
