Saturday proved once again just how popular Tim Tebow is when Montreal Canadiens’ goaltender Carey Price was caught Tebowing in the NHL Skills Competition at the 2012 NHL All Star festivities.

John Tavares was gliding in to take his penalty shot and Price decided to remain stationary while Tebowing. You can look at this from many angles, but the one that sticks out to me is how much it took away from the move Tavares made.

His goal was one of the better goals on the night but who knows if it would have went in if Price actually tried. Ultimately, that takes away from how spectacular it was.

Regardless of the outcome from the non-effort, Price pulling the Tebow in the cage was amusing to say the least. It would have made it so much better if he had stopped the puck, but it was hilarious either way.

Love him or hate him, Tebow is the most polarizing figure in sports right now. For Price, a Canadian born athlete, to do this in the middle of a sport dominated by foreign players proves how much of an impact Tebow has had on fans across the world.

Tebow brings opinions to the table every time he is talked about; he will become one of the most popular athletes in the history of sports if he continues to have success next season and for the rest of his career.

Who would have guessed we would see something like this in the sport of hockey? Which sport will be the next to follow suit?

If you thought ‘Tebowmania’ was on hiatus, think again.
