Royal Rumble 2012: Sheamus and Dark Horse Rumble Winners

This year’s Royal Rumble match has one of the deepest fields in the history of the match. That means that picking the winner of the match is almost impossible. There are favorites to win, however, these three wrestlers are dark horses that could shock the world and win.

Sheamus is a former WWE Champion and someone who is very over as a fan favorite with the WWE Universe. However, if he needs to, Sheamus can flip that switch over to a monster who the fans despise.

This ability to be able to flip between a heel and a face makes Sheamus a versatile wrestler who can enter into a feud with WWE Champ CM Punk on the Raw side. However, if the WWE does turn Daniel Bryan into a heel champion, Sheamus can be that face who goes against Bryan on the Smackdown brand.

Sheamus is a beast in the ring and very easily could survive all the way until the end to win the Royal Rumble.

Cody Rhodes

Cody has seen his career take off like a firework when he won the Intercontinental Title, lost his face mask and took his heel persona to another level.

Now, he can take his career onto another level by winning the Royal Rumble.

Rhodes may be a dark horse to win, but you have to take into consideration that he is one of the top heels on the Smackdown. If he would win the over the top rope Royal Rumble match, he would make for a great opponent for Daniel Bryan, should he be the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania XXVIII.

Plus, the WWE has done this before, having the Intercontinental Title vs. the Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania.

Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler does have a big WWE Title match on the card already. However, not only have we seen Ziggler wrestle twice on a pay-per-view before, but he has said that he’s upped his cardio if he would enter the Rumble.

It doesn’t look like Ziggler is going to go over Punk in their title match. This would enable Dolph to find a way into the Rumble match later in the night.

Dolph then goes onto survive until the end, and then dumping someone like Randy Orton in the end to head onto WrestleMania XXVIII to face off against Punk in a rematch.

If you are doing a Royal Rumble pool you may want to take one of these three wrestlers. They may be dark horses to win the event, but they have as good of a shot as anyone.
