For one singular season in a vacuum with no long-term issues, I would give Peyton Manning a shot with an ultra-talented Cowboys set of running backs, wide receivers and tight ends. Could Manning's complex schemes be handled and learned in a matter of months? Maybe.

Could he lead the Cowboys to the glory land that only Staubach and Aikman could achieve? Probably.

There is only one thing that is stopping me from outright saying that I want Peyton Manning as the starting quarterback for the Cowboys in 2012. His arrival would signal a dooming blow to Tony Romo, who ultimately has a longer career ahead of him and an already-solid background with this franchise.

Would you take two solid (potentially injury-prone) years with Peyton Manning, or five-six solid (less injury-prone) years with Tony Romo? Give me Tony. All day, every day. Not to mention, there is still no guarantee that Manning is healthy enough to suit up in an NFL game.

If somehow there was a magical way to bring on Peyton for a year without any ill effects to Romo, I would be all for that. Since this is an unrealistic (and foolish) thought, I firmly stand by Tony Romo and his ability to lead the Cowboys to the promised land.

What is your take? Do you want Manning under center in Jerry World next year, or are you content with Romo?
