Now that the 2012 NBA trade deadline is roughly a month a way, teams are starting to put their attractive players on the trading block. This year, expect plenty of point guards to hit the trade market.

Some of these guards have been put on the block because their team already has another capable point guard. Others have had their name thrown out there because the team is expecting to lose them after their contract expires.

Cough, Deron Williams, cough.

Here's a list of the top-five point guards on the market.

5. Ramon Sessions

Ramon Sessions might not be on the trading block yet, but he soon will be if Kyrie Irving keeps playing like he is now.

Sessions isn't getting a lot of playing time—roughly 22 minutes per contest—but he is making the most of his limited time on the floor.

He is averaging 9.1 points per game, 4.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game.

The Cleveland Cavaliers might want to hold onto Sessions for the time being, in order to keep some pressure off of Irving. He is, after all, a rookie.

But don't be surprised to see a playoff team inquire about Sessions if they are in need of a point guard.

4. Mo Williams

If a team is in need of a point guard, the Los Angeles Clippers front office is the number to call.

Not only do they have Chauncey Billups, a true 1-guard who was converted to the 2, but Mo Williams is also on the squad.

However, Billups can't be moved due to the amnesty clause, but he would serve as the backup point guard to Chris Paul if Williams were to be traded.

Williams should be a starting point guard in this league. He has a stat line of 14.9/ 3.5/ 1.9, despite his limited playing time (roughly 27 minutes per game).

Expect Williams to be moved before the trade deadline.

3. Devin Harris

For some odd reason, the Utah Jazz have decided to put Devin Harris on the trading block. He was the main piece of the Deron Williams trade that went down only a year ago.

Yes, he is having a disappointing season in 2012 thus far. His 9.1 points per game, 4.6 assists and 1.5 rebounds this year are all lower than his career averages.

It's unclear whether any teams have contacted the Jazz in regards to Harris. However, one team that should be interested is the Los Angeles Lakers.

Don't be surprised to see the Lakers make a play for Harris before the trade deadline.

2. Rajon Rondo

While Rajon Rondo's name was only thrown around because Chris Paul was at stake, it still showed that the Boston Celtics are willing to part with their point guard.

But now that the Rondo trade rumors have died down, head coach Doc Rivers has stated that this is Rondo's team.

But what if another franchise player hits the market?

One has to think that the Celtics wouldn't refrain from dangling Rondo out there in order to entice other teams.

Rondo getting dealt before this trade deadline is unlikely, but you can't completely rule out the possibility.

1. Deron Williams

Deron Williams is considered to be the best all-around point guard in the NBA.

Some may argue that Chris Paul is, while others may say that the honor should go to Derrick Rose. However, it's hard to deny that all three collectively make up the three best 1-guards in the NBA.

But as it turns out, the New Jersey Nets might've made the wrong decision when they traded Devin Harris, Derrick Favors and two first-round picks for Williams' services.

Williams has stated that he isn't willing to sign an extension during the season, and that should scare the Nets front office at least a little bit.

Williams will likely walk after his contract expires at the end of the season, unless the organization is willing to break the bank for Dwight Howard.

This scenario is a bit far-fetched, so the Nets may be better suited to trade Williams now for whatever they can get. And they should get a lot in compensation for Williams.
