Barcelona vs. Real Madrid: Ranking the El Clasico Goals

0 of 5

In a match where we saw Sergio Busquets once again prove to the footballing world how much of an embarrassment he really is to the beautiful game, as well as how disgraceful Pepe can really be, we also witnessed some stupendous goals.

Here is a ranking of the four goals of perhaps the best El Clasico in recent years.

4. Mesut Özil's Sublime Pass and Cristiano Ronaldo's Finish

1 of 5

Mesut Özil found space in midfield after a nice pass from Xabi Alonso. In turn, he provided a defense-splitting pass to Ronaldo, who rounded the keeper to slot into the empty net despite Carles Puyol chargin in.

3. Dani Alves's Screamer

Most of you were perhaps expecting this to be No. 1.

However, for me, it's a fantastic goal that shows off great technique, but it could have gone anywhere. I call it a fluke.

We have seen numerous screamers over the years, and this is not more special than any of them. Nigel De Jong's goal against Liverpool in the Carling Cup Tie was probably better.

2. Karim Benzema's Solo Effort

    What a goal!

Karim Benzema makes a marauding run, juggles the ball before Carles Puyol—making the latter lose his footing completely—and scores while being off-balance.

1. Lionel Messi's Magical Assist and Pedro's Wonder Goal

4 of 5

This goal definitely has to be the No. 1 goal.

While Dani Alves's goal has been hogging all the spotlight, this goal has already been forgotten by many. Perhaps we expect such kind of magical runs from Lionel Messi on a daily basis, and it's probably nothing out of the ordinary for a classy footballer like Messi. Nevertheless, you have to credit magical goals such as these.

Lionel Messi dribbled past the entire back line of the Madrid team, drew all the defenders towards him and laid the perfect pass to Pedro. Pedro then finished off with a great goal in the bottom right corner that left Iker Casillas stunned.
