WWE Royal Rumble 2012: Kevin Nash Updates His Rumble Status

Ryan AstonCorrespondent IJanuary 6, 2017

At last year's Royal Rumble in Boston, Kevin Nash made his return to WWE action (as Diesel) after an absence of nearly a decade. He received a thunderous ovation from the TD Garden crowd.

Fans in attendance at the Scottrade Center on the 29th for the 2012 edition of the event, who are looking for a repeat performance, could come away disappointed after "Big Sexy" issued the following tweet on Tuesday night:

"Under no circumstances will I be at the Royal Rumble, unless of course, I'm going over. Oh, and I need to be #30."

It had been reported last month by PWTorch, here on Bleacher Report and elsewhere that Nash was booked on non-WWE shows during Royal Rumble weekend.

He is advertised by Fight The World Wrestling! for an autograph signing in correlation with their Showdown on Queens Boulevard event on Friday, January 27th, as well as Saturday 28th in Elmhurst, N.Y. However, not on the actual night of the pay-per-view itself.

Nash hasn't appeared live in the ring or on WWE TV since losing to Triple H in a sledgehammer ladder match at the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view on December 18th.

While it appears as though he could potentially be available for a return at Sunday night's event, the recent tweet and all other signs point to Mick Foley and Chris Jericho being the nostalgia contingent for this year's Royal Rumble match.
