Arsenal FC: 6 January Transfers Fans Would Go Wild For
Arsenal Football Club needs some fresh faces!
After last weeks disappointing result against Manchester United, it is clear that Arsenal needs some new personnel to help spark a Gunners ascension back into the top four.
Andrei Arshavin has essentially secured his move away from the Emirates, but Arsene Wenger has yet to bring any fresh faces to North London.
Arsenal supporters, such as myself, are beginning to grow frustrated with the Frenchman. So as a way to cope with our dismal reality, let us venture into a dreamworld of footballers we'd all like to see pull on an Arsenal shirt.
Adam Johnson is one of the most underutilized players in the Premier League.
Regardless of whether he starts for Manchester City, or he makes an appearance off of the bench, the English international provides a spark in attack that few players at Arsenal can match.
Johnson has shown that he has pace, technical ability, and vision. He can deliver a beautiful cross, but he also possesses a fantastic left foot.
Due to Manchester City's congested squad, Johnson may well fancy a move to a club in which he will get more first-team football.
Replacing Andrei Arshavin with Adam Johnson would be an absolute master stroke by Arsene Wenger.
This season, Solomon Kalou became a record-holder at Chelsea. The record? No player has come off of the bench for the Blues more than the Ivorian.
In his time at Stamford Bridge, Kalou has netted 46 goals for the West London club.
While he may not be the most talented player available, Kalou is a player that Arsenal would be able to bring in for cheap.
On top of that, he has played in the Premier League for six years. He knows what it takes to play in the English league.
In Kalou, Arsenal would finally have a player to provide hope to a bench that is currently lacking in that department.
The Ivorian could very easily become the Super Sub that Arsenal fans have been craving.
Demba Ba's goal scoring record speaks for itself. The Senegalese striker has netted 15 goals in 17 games for Newcastle this term.
He's been linked with a move to Tottenham. Excuse me?! What is Arsenal doing? Demba Ba would be an incredible addition to the Gunners.
He would make a great strike partner for Robin van Persie. Newcastle appears to be willing to sell the in form striker.
This is a player that Arsenal should jump on immediately.
If Demba Ba makes the move to the Emirates, Gooners everywhere would go absolutely mad.
Keisuke Honda is a player that should be playing at a much more prominent club than CSKA Moscow. Honda has been a fantastic player for both his club and his country.
Honda has had some brilliant displays in the UEFA Champions League. If an offer came in from the Gunners would Honda really not jump on the chance to move to the Premier League?
Arsenal would greatly benefit from having a player like Keisuke Honda as Tomas Rosicky continues to age.
While Honda may not be a household name, the Japanese international is a player that brings quality to any team that he plays for.
Arsenal would do well to bring him in this January.
There is no more physically imposing defender in English football than Chris Samba. The Congolese centre-back is a force at the back.
He is a player that has always troubled Arsenal in the past. He currently plays for Blackburn, a club mired in a relegation battle. So why haven't Arsenal put in a bid for Samba?
Maybe he wants to stay at Blackburn? Wrong. The 27-year-old handed in a transfer request.
This is a player that Arsenal could come in a steal. He could turn out to be the steal of this transfer window.
Gooners would go nuts for a defensive force like Chris Samba.
Marc Albrighton is a young prospect who broke into the Aston Villa first-team in last year's campaign. The 22-year-old has put in a number of impressive performances for the midlands club.
In a way, Albrighton most resembles Adam Johnson, yet he is two years younger. Albrighton is not as refined as his senior compatriot, however he has the potential to reach that level.
Albrighton would be a great occasional starter for the Gunners. He could play an equally important role as a substitute.
If Albrighton moved down to North London, Gooners would have a lot to be happy about in the coming years of the club.
