According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Miami Dolphins have hired the Green Bay Packers' offensive coordinator as their next head coach.

Miami was desperately in need of an offensive-minded coach, and with Philbin they got their wish. The Packers offense has been up top in the standings consistently from back when Brett Favre was QB, to now with Aaron Rodgers

This was a very smart choice by owner Stephen Ross. They picked up a guy who has had great success as an offensive coach, and has had a lot of experience in developing quarterbacks.

Philbin can decide to work with Matt Moore, draft a QB or possibly pick up Matt Flynn in free agency. Whomever the quarterback for Miami might be, they will definitely have the privilege of working with a great QB coach, something that Miami has been lacking for a while.

Joe Philbin has been in such a great environment in Green Bay, hopefully he can take that same intensity that he had with the Packers and bring that to the Miami Dolphins.
