ESPN's Around the Horn has become so popular because it pits some of the country's top columnists against each other in unbridled fashion.

But perhaps some things are best left unsaid, as the Dallas Morning News' Tim Cowlishaw found out on Thursday.

Apparently ESPN's Jackie MacMullan recently had some facial surgery. Cowlishaw, who perhaps was a bit frisky for his own good, jumped at the chance to say it was Botox.

Bad idea.

Cowlishaw's quick quip was greeted with a "You little bastard" from MacMullan, followed by a stunned "Botox?! What?!" from columnist Kevin Blackistone.

MacMullan went on to say, "I think there's more of a chance of you having Botox than me," while host Tony Reali gave Cowlishaw negative-50 points to start the show.

We've seen ATH's columnists battle back and forth throughout the years, trading barbs while Woody Paige writes random things on this chalkboard. It's honestly what makes the show so entertaining.

But there is a line, and I think Cowlishaw just crossed it. It was obviously in good fun, but it's safe to say MacMullan wasn't pleased. Laughing it off wasn't going to save you from MacMullan's wrath this time, Cowlishaw. And it didn't—he was the first person kicked out of the competition on Thursday.

Nothing like a Botox reference to start off the day.
