It's not every day you meet a man like Biff Booferman: a true legend within the police world of Pittsburgh.  The retired Pittsburgh police officer rambles on about what the he likes and dislikes about the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Sweet Jesus man; does it get down and dirtier than this setting?!

As I recline back into the sticky plastic bench at the horseshoe-style booth, Biff lights a cigarette, pores us both a pint glass of beer and proceeds to lecture me.  What transpires is not so much an opinion, but a religious experience from a bishop among the religious cult known as Steeler Nation.  This man not only bleeds black and gold, but paints his house in the colors.

"Let’s start by evaluating Mike Tomlin," says Booferman. "He stands on the sidelines, lifeless. He shows no emotion and does nothing to motivate his team. He says it’s up to the players to get themselves motivated; just the thing a lazy coach says. He is incapable of motivating his team and his ignorance shows by saying the players need to do it themselves."

"Go ask Chuck Noll or Bill Cowher if a pro athlete doesn't need a good kick in the butt once in awhile to get motivated," he continued. "Tomlin continually spews forth with this 'standard is the standard' crap; well, his standard sucks and only a coward would never tell what his standard is.

"This team unfortunately has taken on the personality of its coach: unmotivated, emotionless and unprepared. The Steelers played lifeless, unmotivated football this year because of the coaching staff of Tomlin and Arians. They lack a killer instinct and players who know how to intimidate opponents.

"They need a Lambert, Porter, Green, Lloyd or similar player to put fear in other teams. Harrison is not what he used to be and needs more help. The fact that Tomlin keeps bringing back the worst offensive coordinator in team history shows he is not Head Coaching material," Booferman asserted.

"Come on. Bruce Arians couldn't call a good pee wee game," says Booferman. "He is so predictable it's not funny: 'run run pass.' Would I love to be a defensive coordinator against him! No gadget plays or trick plays are called because he does not like them; he also refuses to use a full back. With a offensive line like this the running back needs all the help it can get.

Am I the only one who gets sick of seeing other quarterbacks with all the time they need to throw because they were smart enough to bring in great lineman? Arians seems content with this under-talented line. He knows they cannot pass-block, but he continually calls for 5-7 step drops which usually result in a sack on Ben.

Why does every other team make quick throws, use three step drops and get the ball off fast?Because it stops the pass rush or slows it down. Ben should never take a snap under center as long as this line is so bad; he should be in the shotgun every play. Arians should protect Ben at all costs, but the idiot wants to throw deep and let Ben get stomped into the ground.

If Tomlin keeps Arians he won’t have Ben much longer; he needs to pull his head out and see the big picture. Arians kisses Ben's rear and vice versa; Ben played much better under Whisenhunt, who was not afraid to tell Ben to do as he is told.

We all know from Ben's past that he makes dumb decisions at times and needs to be pulled back to reality, both on and off the field. So for 2012, get rid of Arians, dump Dancinhall (Mendenhall), get younger, faster players to replace the old beat up players like Farrior, Hampton and Smith and upgrade the cornerbacks.

Ike Taylor is said to be the best DB on the team; anyone who watched him play knows that’s not saying much. The Steelers have young talent corner backs; it’s time to use them. Gay and McFadden couldn't cover a bed with a blanket; time to go.

The safeties are good but aging, need to look for a replacement for aging Clark. Does anyone else not see Hampton getting pushed around and grabbing at air? He has not made a great play in two years. Farrior is way to old and slow; watch the Superbowl and this season and see how many times he is out run or beaten as he grabs at air and misses tackles.

Timmons is overrated—how many splash plays did he make? None, until the last two games of the season when it was too late. Let’s not forget injured "Dancinhall." Did no one watch him continually run towards the line and put on the brakes as he got the hand off? He did it every game, then he tried to hit a closed hole and either fell down or was knocked down. The man dances to much and is very indecisive when trying to figure out which way to run.

Watch the difference when Redman is in—he hits the hole and runs people over. He does not hesitate like Mendenhall and he gets yards. Why does Dancinhall get four carries at the 1-yard line and Redman isn’t even given a chance? One word—Arians. Redman runs them over and gets yards. Look for yourself and see how many times Dancinhall runs someone over.  Never happens, and never will because he plays scared.

Why does the Redzone offense fail year after year? Arians and his crap play calling. The offense needs to get much better and it can't with Arians. His failure to get better and adapt or learn how to beat elite teams shows he does not belong in the NFL. Why does no other team offer Arians a Head coaching position? Because they want him to stay in Pittsburgh and run his inept offense.

For all those Arians fans (can't be but one or two): Let’s face it. The team won in spite of him, not because of him. The defense did not cost the Steelers the 2011 season; it was the inept, Arians-led Offense. Year after year, Arians can't seem to figure out how to beat defenses like the Patriots, Saints, Packers and Ravens. It's way past time to dump this guy and move on.

The sad thing is Tomlin backs this idiot. Maybe it’s time to get rid of him and bring back Whisenhunt as the new head coach. Remember how our former O.C.S were signed by other teams—Mike Mularkey and Ken Whisenhunt. Funny—not even one team has ever asked to interview Arians. That says it all!

I know Ward is aging and maybe lost a step, but the man’s blocking ability and leadership on the field was sorely missed this season. Ward needs to be on the 2012 team if they hope to win another Superbowl."
