The NBA held a homecoming reunion special, Dwight Howard likes what the Clippers are all about and I just can't shake this Tim Tebow guy.

Let's dish.

In this edition:

Despite a verbal commitment to the SEC powerhouse, highly-touted quarterback Gunner Kiel made the decision to go to Notre Dame because his mother didn't want her baby to go away.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Why did he listen to her?

Our Take: Speaking as a mama's boy, I can safely say that whenever your mother sheds tears and asks you to stay, you do it or you feel the wrath of khan later.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Tearful Goodbyes

Kiel has been getting a lot of criticism for his constant flip-flopping, but he is young and trying to figure out his life. Hopefully, he is done making decisions for awhile.

Gunner's Mother Gets Emotional (Shreveport Times)

If you have lost count of the number of times that Kiel, the top ranked quarterback in the 2012 recruiting class, has committed and decommitted, you are not alone.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will Gunner stay at Notre Dame for more than a week?

Our Take: If I were to say yes, would you believe me? He is from Indiana, and Notre Dame is actually a big time program, so there will be no more fliriting. He is married to this school for the next four years, or until he gets bored.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Spoiled Quarterbacks

It is telling that Kiel can't seem to make up his mind, and that he changed his mind after seeing LSU lose in the BCS Championship Game. Of course, watching Alabama's defense hit, I would have decommitted after watching the first quarter of that game.

Arguably the greatest and most influential athlete of the last 50 years, Muhammad Ali is turning 70 today.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What does the Greatest of All Time do to celebrate?

Our Take: He had an event for charity in Louisville, celebrities, athletes, politicians, basically everyone in the world is going out of their way to wish him a happy birthday.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Butterflies and Bees

Ali transcended sports because he was not afraid to speak his mind and stand up for what he believed in, even under the most dire of circumstances. Certainly he wasn't the only person to do that, but no one did it like he did.

Happy Birthday to the Greatest of All Time.

ORLANDO, FL - DECEMBER 21: Dwight Howard #12 of the Orlando Magic argues a call during a preseason game against the Miami Heat at Amway Center on December 21, 2011 in Orlando, Florida. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by download

What a difference a Chris Paul makes. Dwight Howard has now included the Clippers as a club he wouldn't mind being traded to. That's like Howard the Duck suddenly getting credit as one of the best movies of all time.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will Clippers land Dwight Howard?

Our Take: No, but it's nice to be well-regarded. The Clippers have a great team that is on a roll right now. The only way this trade happens is if the Magic suddenly fall in love with DeAndre Jordan. In fact, it's more likely the Magic just keep Howard so they can help him pack his bags this summer.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 What The Hell Is Going Ons

I am convinced I am living in an alternate reality like that Jet Li movie The One. I am still convinced that movie should have been called Only the Lone-Li.

FOXBORO, MA - JANUARY 14: Tim Tebow #15 of the Denver Broncos looks on after the Broncos lost 45-10 against the New England Patriots during their AFC Divisional Playoff Game at Gillette Stadium on January 14, 2012 in Foxboro, Massachusetts. (Photo by Al

The media felt it was necessary to hype John Elway claiming Tim Tebow would enter camp as the starting quarterback. As opposed to who, Dave the janitor? Martha from accounting?

Question on Everybody's Mind: Can we erase our memories of Tim Tebow like in Total Recall

Our Take: If you do that, you will just end up killing Sharon Stone and pissing off Michael Ironside. Anyway, this is just silly because there is nothing else Elway can say right now. I will bet you a million space bucks that he would be singing a different tune if another QB became available.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Tebow Over-Exposures

If Tim Tebow retired tomorrow, I am sure we would still find a way to talk about him five months from now. I should just get used to such things.

Who said the NBA wasn't a sappy place after all? Seriously, because whoever said that is wrong. We have two homecomings that were front and center on national TV last night; Kendrick Perkins going back to Boston and Lamar Odom in L.A.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Did the Celtics welcome back Kendrick Perkins with a Coldplay-infused highlight reel?

Our Take: No fair, you peeked.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Did Lakers fans give Lamar Odom a standing ovation?

Our Take: Damn, you are good.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Been There, Done Thats

Lakers fans were quite gracious to Lamar Odom, a player that asked to be traded. You can bet there would have been no standing ovation if he were playing well this season.
