Brett Favre vs. Aaron Rodgers: Playoff Edition

David ArreolaSenior Analyst IJanuary 4, 2009

Welcome friends to the special playoff edition of Brett Favre vs. Aaron Rodgers.

Obviously this is a humor article as neither quarterback made the playoffs. But, I simply had to make one more of these beauties, which have been so much fun to write.

So off we go, Who did better in the playoffs?

Brett Favre: One to Two New TV Commercials, One Big Decision to Make

The Good

By now Favre has played more than a few rounds of golf. Why do you think he hasn't responded to Thomas Jones' comments?

Reports out of Hattiesburg say that Favre shot four over par. Not a bad day for the old man.

He spent time with his wife and his two daughters.

Favre has most likely made another commercial for Wrangler Jeans. I mean come on, who doesn't want to be out in the mud throwin' a football to your dog; Sam?

The Bad

The shit has hit the fan for Favre. His teammates called him out for being "distant" and some little worthless sacks (ahem...) called for his benching.

He hasn't come up with a decision on whether to retire or not. Which is a good thing, because we all know what happens when he answers early.

What if he decides to come back then retires a week before training camp? It's a possibility....

Aaron Rodgers: Five Months of Not Shaving, One Kick-Ass Trip to Australia

The Good

Dude, the man is going to Australia during the off season. I bet he is already there, that Green Bay winter is cold. I'm sure while he is sun bathing (whilst not shaving) he will be thinking of just how cold the fans in Green Bay must be.

Good luck in Australia mate, look out for sharks and such...

The Bad

Poor Aaron will be spending his off season alone. There were reports that he is dating someone, but let's be real....that beard....

Good luck in down under, those international women aren't as easy... (yea, I said it).

There really isn't much stuff on your plate, you have more than $60 million dollars in your get to play quarterback for the Green Bay Packers next year.

Life is good.

The Pick

Rodgers had a great playoff, going to Australia and such.

Favre has been off the radar trying to get his crap together. The media is slowly turning on you, your teammates already have. Your going to have a new head coach even if you come back.

Adversity left and right for Favre.

Just like his entire life, the man doesn't falter.

Brett Favre will return for his 19th season of pro football. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST. Favre backs down from nothing.

Final Thoughts

Well friends, this is it for the Brett Favre vs. Aaron Rodgers series.

I had too much fun writing these articles every week. I appreciate every comment you left and every piece of criticism you dished out. It made the articles more fun to write.

A lot of people missed the point of this article. It wasn't to decide who is better, but to account their weekly performances and merely pick the better performance.

The circumstances were so different this season that it would be impossible to accurately compare them.

Anyway, I just want to thank all my readers over the season. You guys were honest with your opinions and let me have it when you disagreed.

Just the way I like it.

Adios amigos!

Until next year? (hmmm....)
