Having just beaten local rivals AC Milan, Inter have launched a bid of £25 million for the out-of-favor Manchester City Striker Carlos Tevez.

This sum might prove too diminutive for City, who will probably look for a larger sum for the talented striker.

Talks fell apart between AC Milan and Manchester City, who were thought to be front-runners in landing the Argentine hitman. However, Alexander Pato's refusal to join PSG led to suspension of all talks.

Tevez is an excellent striker, but given his share of disciplinary problems means it is a risk for any club to join him. However, Inter might be an ideal location for Carlos, where there are a host of other Argentine players like Javier Zanetti, Diego Milto, Esteban Cambiosso and others.

Inter's coach Claudio Ranieri has done a massive job after taking over Inter, propelling them from the bottom half of the Serie A to just six points shy of league leaders Juventus. Perhaps, Tevez might be the missing link that will allow Inter to enter the title race fully.

He won't be eligible to play for the Champions League due to him being cup-tied, but he will certainly able to make Inter a formidable force in the domestic leagues.

In other news, Chelsea have completed the signing of Bolton defender Gary Cahill for around £7m.
