The 2012 NFL Playoffs have been arguably the most entertaining playoffs in recent memory.

During the divisional round, we witnessed one record fall, as Tom Brady threw five touchdowns in the first half for the New England Patriots against the Denver Broncos—a new NFL playoff record.

With that record already falling, what are some records that will be broken this year?

Hare are eight playoff records that could be broken this year.

Tom Brady Could Finish with the Most Playoffs Wins

Tom Brady has already broken one NFL record, and he could set another one if the New England Patriots win Super Bowl XLVI.

Brady currently has 15 career playoffs wins, and if he is able to lead his team to a Super Bowl victory, he will end the 2011 season with 17 career playoff wins—which would break Joe Montana's record of 16.

Even if the Patriots make the Super Bowl, Brady would tie Montana's mark of 16.

Most Pass Attempts in a Game

Drew Brees came just two pass attempts short of tying Steve Young's playoff record of 65 pass attempts in a game.

It's no secret—the NFL is a passing league, and with teams like the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants and the New England Patriots in the playoffs, any of their quarterbacks could shatter that record.

Most Touchdown Passes in a Game

Tom Brady came just one touchdown short of breaking Daryle Lamonica's playoff record of six touchdowns in a game.

This record is certainly a stretch, but with quarterbacks like Brady and Aaron Rodgers alive—then anything is possibly, especially in such a pass-heavy era of the game.

Most Sacks in a Single Super Bowl

Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Clay Matthews, Justin Smith, Aldon Smith and Jason Pierre-Paul are all capable of breaking this record.

As of right now, the most sacks record in a Super Bowl was three, and that record is held by Reggie White and Darnell Dockett.

Most Consecutive Games with a Touchdown Pass

If New England makes it to the Super Bowl, then Tom Brady could likely shatter this record.

It has now been 18 straight playoffs where Brady has thrown a touchdown, and if he throws a touchdown pass in the AFC Championship and in Super Bowl XLVI, then he will be the new all-time record holder.

Most Combined Points in a Game

Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers and the Arizona Cardinals had already set this record back in the 2009 playoffs, where they combined for an incredible 96 points.

Just imagine this, if we see a team like the Packers and the New England Patriots face off in the Super Bowl, then that record could definitely be shattered.

Most Touchdown Receptions in a Game

The current record of most touchdown receptions in a playoff game stands at three with eight players tied—and the most recent player added to the list was New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, as he snagged three in New England's victory over the Denver Broncos.

Like I previously have stated, the NFL is such a pass-heavy league, which means that four touchdown receptions is a definite possibility.

Career Receptions in a Super Bowl

New England Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch currently sits at No. 3 for most receptions in Super Bowl history, as he has 21.

If the Patriots reach Super Bowl XLVI, then Branch could have a long-shot at eclipsing Jerry Rice's record of 33.
