Over the past few weeks the WWE has started a small feud between Goldust and Cody Rhodes.

The feud has been mainly Goldust showing shame on his real life half-brother for his disrespect of Booker T.  The WWE could be using this to just pass the time on Smackdown, but they would be wise to capitalize during WrestleMania.

Remember Owen vs. Bret at WrestleMania?  

Now, I am not comparing the two brother sets as far as their legendary status goes, but the fact is that WWE fans like to see family quarrel.  We have seen it with the Harts, McMahons, Hardys, etc.

So why not let us see it with the Rhodes-Runnels family?

These two would be able to put on a decent wrestling match and several weeks of above average hype for the match.  The WWE could also use “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes in the match to add to the buildup.  He could be the special referee or be involved somewhere with the promotion of the match.  

Adding Dusty Rhodes would introduce a new generation of fans to three different generations of a wrestling family.  This generation missed out of the Hart family, so the WWE should introduce them to the Rhodes clan.

At this writing, I am not sure about the in-ring fitness of Goldust.  If he is unable to put on a 20-30 minute match with Rhodes, the WWE could put these two in a No Disqualification match.  This could be the “Hollywood back lot brawl” for this generation.

The WWE has always been good at pitting family vs. family and making it entertaining for the fans.  The fact that the youngest Rhodes comes off like a bratty kid only adds to the rivalry.  This match would serve to solidify a yet-to-be determined undercard for the event.

If Goldust is making his return to full service within the ranks of the WWE, they could make this an Intercontinental Title match as well.  If he is not returning full time, the WWE should take the belt off of Rhodes before the event and after WrestleMania move him to the World Heavyweight Title scene.

Having his older brother put him over in this match would solidify Rhodes’ place as a main event mainstay on Smackdown.
