It's time to break down what really matters heading into the Australian Open.
Back hands, serves and volleys are great. I really want to know who is going to dominate down under with deft play and great counter skills.
That great analysis is best left for another article, because we are only interested in the human form here. Only, we are not looking at just any bodies, but bodacious ones.
These are the athletes who turn heads and drive up ratings. Sure, you may watch hours of the open for the thrill of victory and agony of defeat. Let's be honest that we keep the channel stuck because of some fine looking ladies.
The field that will throw it down in Melbourne has been set, and now it is time to dissect them and find out who reigns supreme on the hard court.
If you enjoy the perfect human form, you have come to the right place. Familiarize yourself with the faces that will occupy all your free time in the next couple of weeks.
Here is a rundown that will make the other brackets and breakdowns weep from jealousy. These are some of the best athletes in the world, and you can see that by the next few slides that will have you clicking for days.
Here are the best, most bodacious bodies at the 2012 Australian Open.
10. Julia Goerges
Oh boy.
Look, we never claimed that this was going to be an exercise in high-brow analysis. This is just some good borderline fun with the human form.
Ms. Julia Goerges has been endowed with one hell of a pair of assets. I am, of course, referring to her forehand and ability to wear hats well.
9. Caroline Wozniacki
We come to our favorite tennis player in the world. What's not to like about Caroline Wozniacki? She is talented, beautiful and has one of the brightest personalities of any athlete.
Her sense of humor shows no bounds, which is why I am convinced her dating Rory McIlroy is one big goof. The No. 1 seed should be around for quite a while in Melbourne.
8. Daniela Hantuchova
It must be exhausting to be awesome at what you do. Here is 28-year-old Daniela Hantuchova just lounging off on a beach somewhere.
The fact that there was a cameraman there to document the respite is amazing. I want to thank the makers of bikini tops for this moment in history.
7. Maria Sharapova
Take a long look at the future Mrs. Sasha Vujacic. Yes, one of the best tennis players in the world is engaged to a man that sinks three-pointers with the frequency of a lunar eclipse.
Sharapova is not all beauty and pizazz. She has a very real chance to take home this Grand Slam as the fourth seed taking on Gisela Dulko in the first round.
6. Maria Kirilenko
There is a certain point in your life where you finally figure out that you have done the right things to get you where you are. That time for me is now, and that moment is providing you hot pics of Maria Kirilenko.
5. Petra Cetkovska
Cetkovska is 26 years old from the Czech Republic, and her best Grand Slam finish was fourth at Wimbledon last year. Here is to hoping she has that kind of longevity in her for this tournament. We can stand to watch her for a few matches.
4. Serena Williams
Forget about reading what the definition of bodacious is, you are looking at it. We hope Serena Williams' health issues are well behind her. She now has to suffer through an ankle injury but should be just fine in the early rounds.
With that being said, we can't wait to find out what she has in store for us in the uniform department. She always manages to invoke the gag reflex with most of her sartorial decisions.
3. Gisela Dulko
I have no idea what happened to Gisela Dulko for her to be so forlorn, or perhaps this is how every hot tennis player unwinds at home.
Either way, I have it in me to play a good round of snuggle bunnies with her. We could even talk after.
2. Dominika Cibulkova
Two is always better than one, and I will resist making a playing-doubles-with-her joke. Oh, I guess I just did.
The Slovakian tennis star is pictured here giving her Blue Steel look. I can't wait to see her new look, as I am sure it will be amazing.
1. Ana Ivanovic
Yes, I will be rooting for the aggressive playing Ana Ivanovic in what is turning out to be one hot Australian Open. The former-No. 1 player is that kind of special that makes knees weak and, um...I'll just stop.
Ana Ivanovic
And since generosity is always a good thing, there is a Part 2 to the very amazing Ana Ivanovic.
