Brock Lesnar officially called it quits on his UFC career last month after his shockingly quick loss to Alistair Overeem.

Lesnar cited issues with his health and wanting to be with his family as the two main reasons why he unexpectedly retired, but that hasn’t stopped wrestling fans from speculating that he could be WWE bound in the near future.

Of course, anything can happen in the wrestling business, so you can’t really rule out Lesnar returning to the WWE as a possibility.

So, what is the latest on Lesnar’s WWE status and his possible comeback? We’ve got the details.

From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestleNewz.com):

Regarding Brock Lesnar, nobody has been told to come up with anything for him and when one person asked Vince McMahon that if Lesnar did come in, would Paul Heyman be part of the package, Vince said Heyman wouldn’t. The feeling is that if any talks are happening between WWE and Lesnar, it would be kept very quiet and creative would be kept out of the loop until the time is right.

I’d officially throw a party if both Lesnar and Heyman returned to the WWE (especially if it happened in time for WrestleMania), but I certainly wouldn’t bank on that happening.

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like Lesnar wouldn’t jump to the WWE so quickly if he really did retire for health and family reasons. He’s not going to be able to spend more time with his family or improve his health if he immediately starts training for a WWE return.

While I would never completely rule out a WWE return for Lesnar, the timing just doesn’t seem right at the moment. Perhaps down the road, but not now.

That being said, Vince McMahon is a master businessman, and if anyone can pull off a stunt like bringing Lesnar back in time for WrestleMania, it’s him.

If he is somehow able to do that, though, I’d expect that, like the WON indicates, he would be extremely secretive about it and do everything in his power to prevent it from leaking out to the public.

So, if Lesnar is indeed going to come back, then I highly doubt that we’ll know about it beforehand.
