Denver's J.R. Smith: We're Not Going To Make A Trade

aSenior Analyst IFebruary 19, 2008

Despite reports that the Denver Nuggets are looking to make a trade before this week's deadline, one Nuggets' player doesn't believe a deal will get done.

In an interview with RealGM's Alex Kennedy, J.R. Smith said he anticipates the team going forward as currently constructed.

While other Western Conference teams like Phoenix, Dallas, and Los Angeles have made big moves in an effort to bolster their title chances, Smith—who has been mentioned in some trade rumors—doesn't think Denver will pull the trigger on a deal.

"Nah, we're not [making any trades]," said Smith when asked about the possibility of a trade. "We're just worrying about the team we have now. That's all we really can do, worry about the players we have."
