T-Mac More Deserving All-Star Than Chris Paul? Fans Need To Wake Up

Attention NBA fans: Not every big market star needs to be in the All-Star game.

As of January 1, 2009, Tracy McGrady leads Chris Paul by nearly 100,000 votes. Those votes are going to keep a more deserving Chris Paul from making his first start as an All-Star.

T-Mac is one of the most overrated stars of his era. He has never carried a team on his back. He has never taken his team past the first round of the playoffs.

Paul on the other hand is truly one of the top point guards in the NBA. He is the heart and soul of the New Orleans Hornets.

He led his team to the brink of the Western Conference Finals in just his third pro year.  When his teammates' production dropped, he came up big.

CP3 is hands down better than T-Mac this season.

Chris Paul averages more points, assists, and steals than McGrady.

Chris Paul is second in the league in efficiency rating. He's just slightly behind LeBron James. Tracy McGrady isn't even in the top 50 in player efficiency.

And those aren't the most telling stats.

Chris Paul has out-rebounded Tracy McGrady. Paul is 6'0" on a good day. McGrady is 6'8".

Paul's rebounding advantage over McGrady tells me about his heart and passion. If you watch a Hornets game, you will see that he wears desire on his chest. It's infectious and it makes his teammates better.

If you are going to vote for players because you know their names, it would be better if you just didn't vote. Leave that to the informed fans.
