CJ Mosley Injury: Dislocated Hip Will Not Slow Down Alabama Star Next Season

Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker C.J. Mosley was injured after picking off a Jordan Jefferson pass in the BCS Championship game.

The LSU quarterback had a day to forget, and ended up making a violent tackle on the LB after his mistake, with Mosley having to be helped off the field following the play.

Fortunately, after initial scares that he fractured his femur, dislocated his knee and possibly suffered nerve and vessel damage, it turned out to just be a dislocated hip.

According to Tommy Deas of, the X-rays were “okay” and Mosley should be fine in just six weeks.

Coach Nick Saban commented further on the injury to reporters on Tuesday morning, according to Matt Scalici of

"C.J. Mosley is, we think, OK," Saban said. "He had a dislocated hip, which they put back in, which X-rays were OK. But we need to do an MRI probably today or tomorrow. If the MRI comes out OK and there wasn't any damage to the joint, he'll be fine in six weeks. If there is any bone chips or fragments, they'll have to scope those out, so that's as much as I can tell you about that right now."

If there are no fragments to scope out, this is phenomenal news, considering ‘Bama just won the National Championship.

They won’t need him for the next six weeks anyway, and the young stud should be more than ready when spring practices begin around the end of March.

Mosley is a sophomore and has a very bright future ahead of him, especially when factoring in his 6’2”, 235-pound frame and immense athleticism.

He will be counted on to lead the Tide back to glory next season, which will be a tall task after all the seniors and certain juniors depart for the NFL from this amazing defense.

Tide fans should be jumping for joy that he has a positive outlook.
