Loyola-Canisius: Loyola Has Breakout Game, Wins 86-62 at Canisius

Loyola College of Maryland finally cut loose on 47.5 percent of its field goals and defeated Canisius by 24 points on the road. Jamal Barney, a sophomore transfer guard from Providence, made 15 of 19 field goals en route to a 41-point scoring spree. 

Junior guard, Brett Harvey, added another 22 points. The third starting guard, sophomore Brian Rudolph added seven points and seven assists. Loyola's starting back court scored 70 points.

Isaac Reid, a sophomore forward, scored five points and pulled down 10 rebounds, as Loyola out rebounded Canisius, 43-26.

Julius Coles scored 15 points for Canisius and Frank Turner scored 10.

This was a welcome road win for the Greyhounds after they took a 41-point drubbing at Duke on New Year's Eve. Loyola is now 5-9. They are 1-2 in the MAAC. Canisius fell to 5-8 and are 0-3 in the MAAC.

Loyola next plays on Monday night at Niagara. Niagara is 11-3 overall and 2-0 in the MAAC.
