The Atlanta Falcons travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Giants in the second NFC Wild Card Game at 1:00 p.m. ET on Fox.

This is perhaps the most intriguing matchup of Wild Card Weekend, pitting two evenly matched teams together in what should be a closely-fought contest.

In a poor year for the NFC East, the G-men were able to take the division crown with a 9-7 record. The Falcons, meanwhile, had to contend with the presence of the explosive New Orleans Saints in the always-tough NFC South.

Mike Smith's team overcame two defeats to the Saints to capture a wild-card berth with a 10-6 mark. Both teams enter the game in good form, having concluded the season with comprehensive victories.

In the division showdown, the Giants bested a Dallas Cowboys team that always flatters to deceive, by the score of 31-14.

The Falcons began 2012 by trouncing NFC South cellar dwellers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, by an emphatic 45-24 scoreline.

Quarterbacks Matt Ryan and Eli Manning will garner most of the attention today. Both men surpassed 4,000 yards through the air during the season.

Whichever signal-caller has the hot hand, will likely determine the winner and give his team the dubious reward of a trip to Green Bay to take on the defending Super Bowl Champions.

Follow this chain throughout the day for reaction and analysis of the game's biggest developments.
