Drew Brees Video: Watch Saints QB Put the Dagger into Detroit

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints appear to be moving on to the Divisional round of the playoffs after a 56-yard touchdown pass put New Orleans up 38-21 with just seven minutes remaining in the game.

At the end of the third quarter, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford put his team back in the game with a brilliant bootleg touchdown run to close the score to 24-21.

Now, after two big passes by Brees, it appears that this one is just about wrapped up.

The most disappointing part for Lions fans is that it wasn't even a great play by New Orleans.

It was a total breakdown in coverage by Detroit.

Robert Meachem was standing wide open on the 15-yard line when Brees fired the bomb downfield to his wide receiver.

The Lions aren't going to roll over, but this one is just about out of reach.

Not only will the Lions have to mount a 17-point comeback, but the defense has to turn things around and shut down this Saints offense that is suddenly on fire.

The only two times the Saints haven't scored were when they turned the ball over on fumbles.

If the Saints can hold onto the lead, they will play the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
