Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will defend his title for the first time when he takes on Keith Jardine.
The duo will serve as the main event of the evening as Strikeforce will make its first endeavor of the new year, while several captivating battles will also grace the event.
Who will come out on top and move forward in their respective divisions?
Tarec Saffiedine vs. Tyler Stinson
Esther Lin; Shark Fights
Fifteen of Stinson's 22 victories come by way of knockout which is always cause for concern; however, Saffiedine will have the answer for the Bellator vet.
Stinson will be aggressive early, though given Saffiedine's steady progression with the Team Quest crew and their roster of wrestling notables, Saffiedine will be able to move the bout up and down whenever he'd like, making Stinson cautious which will allow the Belgian to coast through a clear-cut decision win.
Tyron Woodley vs. Jordan Mein
Two of the division's most promising stars will collide this Saturday as the homegrown Tyron Woodley takes on Jordan Mein.
The Canadian in Mein is well-versed in all areas, though his striking acumen has shown to be his most dangerous weapon, to which former title challenger Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos can attest to, who was knocked out by the 21-year-old with a bevy of punches and elbows.
Despite all of his recent success, Mein has shown that his grappling skills remain left wanting and against Woodley that is a recipe for disaster, as the former collegiate wrestler will take down the welterweight dynamo time and time again over the course of three rounds of action en route to a decision victory.
Muhammed Lawal vs. Lorenz Larkin
Larkin is one of the more talented fighters to grace to hexagon as of late.
The undersized striker has deftly defeated Scott Lighty, Gian Villante and Nick Rossborough whilst under the Strikeforce banner.
His speed, precision and athleticism have carried him this far, but against Lawal, Larkin will finally meet his match.
A world class wrestler, Lawal is considerably bigger than Larkin and will use his strength advantage to grind out "The Monsoon", wearing him down with his takedowns and clinch work before punching his way to a late rally knockout, courtesy of his heavy hands that have bested most of his opposition.
Robbie Lawler vs. Adlan Amagov
Russia's own Adlan Amagov will be venturing back to Las Vegas for the third time when he takes on Robbie Lawler.
Amagov has proven to be a well adept kickboxer and though Lawler's deficiencies in the past have been against larger grapplers, he's been given a gift here as Amagov will be willing to oblige with Lawler's usual code of conduct and opt to slug it out with the heavy hitter.
Amagov may be able to get the better of the Iowa native early, but Lawler's crushing one-punch knockout power cannot be ignored, as the "Ruthless" one will score the emphatic finish at the expense of an overzealous Amagovl.
Luke Rockhold vs. Keith Jardine
Once a top contender in the UFC's light heavyweight division, Keith Jardine will be looking to make waves as a middleweight when he takes on Strikeforce champ Luke Rockhold.
Jardine is a gritty and unorthodox fighter that throws off even some of the best fighters in the world, though his chin and conditioning have always come under question.
Rockhold, if anything, is a finisher, as the San Jose fighter has only gone the distance once throughout his four year career.
In his last outing against Ronaldo Souza he showed a new facet of his game. Despite being unable to finish the submission whiz, Rockhold fought for five hard fought rounds, showing that he can go 25-minutes without contest.
His flashy kicks, knees and punches have helped Rockhold earn decisive finishes in the past and they will come into play once again, where the AKA star will knockout "The Dean of Mean" before the final bell.
