We all know that Manny Pacquiao is of colossal importance and popularity when it comes to boxing, but what’s even more impressive is that he is one of the top three athletes searched on Yahoo! in the year 2011.

This may seem obvious to us boxing fans, but I think that it’s a pretty remarkable achievement. Boxing itself has lost many fans over the decades, and with UFC on the rise, their fighters get a lot of media and fan attention. Not only that, but sports such as basketball and football are generally the bread and butter of most Americans. Worldwide, soccer and hockey are also a huge chunk of the pie.

What I am trying to say is that there are plenty of sports figures from a wide spectrum of sports to favor, and Yahoo! is a tremendous tool for worldwide Internet users. Millions of people use that search engine daily, and it’s its nice to hear that our own sportsman from our sport, Manny Pacquiao, has made it in the top three.
