As soon as I heard the new and improved front office down in Miami had released Zach Thomas, I knew it was only a matter of time before he auditioned for BB and Co.
Sure, he's not getting any younger, but he fits a mold that seems to work very well in New England:
Fill your team with guys who want to win.
Zach made the trip to Foxboro on Monday and the Patriots were impressed enough to make an undisclosed offer to the former Dolphin. Thomas was slated to make $5.65 million in 2008, and will make a trip to New Orleans on Tuesday.
The Patriots are also scheduled to have Marty Booker in town for a workout. Marty, like Wes Welker, has been a pain in the bum for the Pats in years past. He was a major factor in both of New England's 2006 losses to Miami, both in January and December.
How funny would that be if the Patriots acquired all of these Miami castoffs and won the Super Bowl with them next year?
Keep your eyes peeled here for more Patriots' news and notes as the offseason rolls on.

He's too old to learn how to cheat at that level now.

Please, video taping is not cheatin. People really need to stop hating on the Patriots, but I guess when you are that good, people would do anything to bring you down.

Stop pretending like every other coach in the league doesn't videotape as well. everyone knows it happens. its like steroids in baseball. they named a few people, but like over 50% of all MLB players from 1990-2000 were juiced.

What if the Patriots had won? They had more than 50% chance of winning the Super bowl game against the Giants. Its was a big upset don't forget that.
People just envy the Pats so much and I can't blame them.

Exactly how much cap room do the Pats have?
According to the writers on this website, they are going to spend about $250 million dollars in free agents this spring....

Do you mind linking to an article that implies this? I fail to recall what you're talking about.

The problem with this move is it doesn't change anything on the Patriots Defense. They already have veteran Linebackers who really know how to play football. The problem is, they are too veteran and wear down as games go on. Especially when they come across a very physical team. They need to go younger rather than older.

anyone ever notice how well the patriots do each year and they always have like 2 1st round picks or a really high pick. they really know what they r doing as far as keepin that team alive. strategists i can't lie. i am a Dolphins' fan but i must admit that! and yes, they will keep taking players Dolphins shit on and make the world think the Dolphins are idiots. i think Parcels knows what he is doing tho. I always thought the Dolphins would let go one of their old veterans but more so in the form of a trade for a draft pick.

it actually works too...i have been doing that in Madden for years building my Franchises. I thought Miami should have resigned and then traded for a pick! if thas allowed i dont see why. now he is just gone and we dont really get anything for him.
