Hey it could be right.  There is a 50/50 chance.  Either he will be or he won't be, that is 50/50.

OK, now I'm going to quote Fahad Zaidl, a writer here at Bleacher Report.  Sorry Fahad, picked you at random. "According to former NFL executive Michael Lombardi, who worked with Bill Belichick in Cleveland, the New England Patriots are going to place the franchise tag on Matt Cassel."

OK, when the NFL has announced lay offs coming, someone leaked this info to a former executive.  Yes, that would not drive Goodell nuts.:)

He worked with Belichick, what, 15 years ago?  I'm sure Belichick has friends from his Cleveland days.  Heck, he might even be the ultimate source sending a trial balloon to see if Cassel's agent calls him.

OK, it is better than an unnamed source, but it is still speculation.

Actual decisions on franchising will be in February. Until then... breathe in... breathe out.

Not that there is anything wrong with speculation, but it is not definite yet.
