NHL Winter Classic 2012: Marty Biron Gives Fans an Inside Look at Practice
The NHL Winter Classic will feature some great action between the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers that will be captured by NBC Sports cameras. However, Marty Biron gave fans an inside look into the Rangers practice today.
Biron was decked out in his Winter Classic gear but was given an extra article of equipment from the NHL Network. During practice, Biron wore a camera attached to his mask to give the fans an inside look at practice.
The always joyous Biron chuckled and joked with teammates while skating around the ice at Citizens Bank Park and took some shots from his teammates. This was an interesting and informal look at Biron. Rangers fans came to know more about the journeyman goaltender over the summer with his video journals.
It is a shame that HBO's 24/7 Road to the Winter Classic hasn't utilized Biron's charm, comedic nature and familiarity behind a camera. If you click here, you will find another video of Biron with his teammates.
Biron will be on the bench tomorrow as Henrik Lundqvist will start for the Rangers in the Winter Classic. However, fans may be in luck as Biron may use his Classic gear when the Rangers are scheduled to use their heritage jerseys for the rest of the year.
In case you didn't already know, the NHL announced today that the Winter Classic has been pushed back to a 3:00 p.m. start time.
