Could Sunday's performance in a 19-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins signal the end of Mark Sanchez's reign in New York?

Sanchez, who helped the Jets (8-8 this season) reach the AFC Championship game the past two seasons, threw three interceptions in the loss. Although he threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns in the game, his play all season has been talked about, maligned and just plain scrutinized by sports media.

And if Sanchez is not the choice of Jets head coach Rex Ryan, the team's offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and team owner Woody Johnson, who might be the one who can set the Big Apple on fire and lead the Jets farther than the former first-round pick could take them?

Robert Griffin III, Baylor University

The Jets may not have a chance to even look at him in the draft, but what if they traded up to select the Heisman Trophy winner?

The Jets mortgaged part of their future to land Sanchez three years ago. Would the management do the same thing again?

Griffin is a good, mobile quarterback with a better arm. Also, he gives the team a better running threat. He may not be Cam Newton, but he is a nice option to have.

David Garrard, Free Agent

At the beginning of the season, David Garrard was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars, setting off a firestorm in Jacksonville as to why the veteran was dropped from the team much like Byron Leftwich was let go in 2007.

While away from football, it was revealed that Garrard had a back injury that required surgery during the football season. Should he be healthy and cleared to play, would the mobile Garrard give the Jets a better chance to win than Sanchez?

Garrard does just enough to manage a football game but is not a gunslinger. Still, he provides leadership and a veteran arm that could be valuable.

Matt Flynn, Green Bay Packers

Flynn, as we all know, had a career game Sunday against Detroit.

While throwing for 480 yards and six touchdowns, he let everyone know that Aaron Rodgers is not the only one in Green Bay who can throw the ball all over Lambeau Field.

Flynn may be the right fit with such weapons as Shonn Greene, Dustin Keller and Santonio Holmes already in place.

Jason Campbell, Oakland Raiders

Campbell went down with a broken collarbone in the middle of the season, allowing the Raiders to trade for Carson Palmer.

Campbell was doing a fine job leading the Raiders' offense, but now that Palmer is the Raiders' quarterback, the former first-round draft choice out of Auburn should attract some attention in free agency. Could New York be one of those teams?

Campbell is mobile and showed improvement in his play this season before being injured. It is doubtful the Raiders would re-sign him with Palmer and Kyle Boller on the roster.

Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys

Could Dallas make wholesale changes with their coaching staff and their passing game?

If Jerry Jones looks to find another quarterback for the Cowboys (Matt Flynn? Landry Jones?), could they trade Romo and would New York take the bait?

Romo is more than capable of winning football games, but he has not been able to lead this team far into the playoffs. Could a change do him and the Jets some good?

Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts

Could New York stand two Mannings?

If the Indianapolis Colts draft Stanford's Andrew Luck of and Manning is fully recovered from his neck injury, could we see the icon of Indiana released or traded?

And if he is, would he be a better option than Mark Sanchez?

New York is a town that loves controversy. Dueling Manning's? It is PERFECT, and you know the league office would eat this up.
