Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Live Score, Video and Analysis

Maurice Jones-Drew broke the Jaguars' record for rushing yards in a season, and he did it with style.
Watch the video of his 56-yard run here.
The game is over with a Jags win and both of these teams are done for the season.
Here are a couple implications from the game:
-The Colts have secured the No. 1 pick in the draft. Now the Colts can either pick the most-hyped quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning in 1998 (Andrew Luck) or can trade the pick for a huge haul of picks.
-Maurice Jones-Drew probably salted away the rushing title. LeSean McCoy would have to have an incredible game in the Eagles' finale to overtake MJD.

The Jaguars are milking the clock behind the strength of MJD. He is absolutely punishing the Colts defenders and just carried a couple of dudes on his back to get a first down.
It looks like a Jags win here today.

The Colts elected to kick it away instead of try an on-side kick. Now they'll need to force a three and out to have enough time to get another TD.
The Colts have life! A touchdown pass to Austin Collie (who has come alive in the game) cuts the Jags' lead to six points.

The Jags' defensive end Jeremy Mincey has been absolutely devastating against the Colts offensive line. You might say that he has made minceymeat out of them.
His pressure has forced bad throws and early releases from Dan Orlovsky. He's the defensive player of the game so far.

Well...the Jaguars sure can kick field goals, eh? They just tacked on another one to put themselves up by 13 points.
With four turnovers in the second half, the Colts seem to be set on getting that first pick in the draft....

Shoeless Joe (Addai). He had to stop after that last play to put his shoe back on. The Colts are at mid-field with almost 12 minutes left in the game.
It's the end of the third quarter. The Jags are having to punt after forcing yet another Colts turnover.
Han Solo was given the appellation "scruffy-looking nerfherder" by Princess Leia in Episode V. Nice vest and shirt, Han. Roll up your sleeves, man!
I just have to apologize to all the Star Trek fans out there...it was actually whales that were communicating with the denizens of the Enterprise. I really don't know if this is true or not. I'm a Star Wars guy. Just call me a scruffy-looking nerfherder.
I know it's not mutually exclusive if you like Star Wars to also like Star Trek. I've long thought that fantasy fans tend like Star Wars better because it's actually a space fantasy (and not science fiction since it's not based in the future of our galaxy).
The naked humanism and deep-set optimism of Star Trek is sometimes tough to swallow for me as well. People are not basically good as Star Trek seems to imply.
The Colts short passing game is clicking like a dolphin trying to communicate with Spock. A quick pass to Austin Collie and another to Donald Brown has the Jaguars struggling to keep up.

Yet another field goal for the Jaguars. They ended up heading backwards after getting a short field. An offensive lineman was tagged with holding and then couldn't recover.
Interception of Dan Orlovsky by the Jaguars' Russell Allen.
The Jags take over on the Colts 19 yard line with the chance to separate themselves if they can get a touchdown.
This is Joe Lefeged. He was an undrafted rookie who is a back-up safety and returns kicks. He's been less than effective as a kick returner.

Joe Lefeged muffed the kickoff from Josh Scobee and the Colts have the ball deep in their territory. It's not cold in Florida, Joe. There is no need for ear muffs (or kickoff muffs).
Field goal for the Jaguars to put them back up by seven points.
Trade 'em, swap 'em with your friends! It's the newest craze to sweep the half-empty stadium in Jacksonville...short field goals!

Jones-Drew is a complete and utter stud at running back. That beastly run just broke two of Fred Taylor's records. One was rushing yards in a year and the other was all-purpose yards for a season.
Jags are in the red zone again.
Adam Vinatieri's chip shot field goal is good and the Colts have cut the Jags lead to four points.
Here's a picture of Luck smiling.

IMPORTANT ANDREW LUCK UPDATE:
The St. Louis Rams are down 20-7 to the San Francisco 49ers. It looks like the Colts will need to lose today if they are to secure the No. 1 pick in the 2012 Draft.
The Colts are in the red zone now for the first time today. It should be tight end time...throw to Dallas Clark or Jacob Tamme!

We're back at it with the Colts driving now from their 20 yard line.
The Colts' rushing attack has been negligible this afternoon. They need to feed Brown and Addai more often on early downs to establish the run.
Crazy final play with a Jaguar interception and a frantic run back rife with laterals. The Colts stopped them before they could score a TD, though.
It's the end of the half. Thanks for reading and I'll see you (write for you) on the other side.

A field goal from Josh Scobee puts the Jaguars up by 7 points.
The Colts have a little bit of time to try to put some points on the board before halftime.
The Jags have driven down into the Colts' territory. A good mix of MJD and timely passes have the Colts on their heels.

Here are a couple of injury updates....
The Jags' effective linebacker Paul Posluszny is sidelined and the Colts' rookie cornerback Chris Rucker is out with back spasms now.
