The roller coaster is never ending for the greatest basketball player to ever step foot into the NBA. Smiles are in full bloom, though, as Michael Jordan is officially engaged to long-time girlfriend, model Yvette Prieto.

It would be far too easy to say that Jordan is sinning simply because he is soon to be wed to an attractive 32-year-old model. Every man would give their left arm, or perhaps the new Air Jordan's they snagged last week, to enjoy similar feats.

Jordan is all smiles because this is one of those enjoyable peaks instead of the many low points in his life. For just as many titles and MVP awards, there have been just as many tragedies and personal obstacles.

The greatest ever is a regular man after all, and he is just as susceptible to barbs, as was seen by his stance as a small-market owner this offseason.

He has seen his fair share of falling short. A misguided attempt at playing professional baseball and a failed marriage of 17 years to Juanita Vanoy is enough to warrant such a thought.

It isn't said enough, but life is far more than just riches and achievement. It's hard enough to make it through each day without someone to share it with. Jordan proved that he can still have it all.

The LA Times reports Jordan's first marriage cost the hall of fame player $186 million when it ended. There is no word yet on whether the upcoming nuptials will include a prenuptial agreement this time.

Jordan, 48, has been dating Prieto for three years now, and they were apparently engaged over the Christmas weekend. It seems that his Airness has a soft spot in his heart for romance.

While the Bobcats start the season off to mixed results, and Jordan continues to age into the form of a miserly owner, the tremendous news proves Jordan still has a couple of great moments left in him.

This 'ol boy still has the magic touch. The proof is in the smile on his face.
