Panthers backup LB Kion Wilson had an array of guns burglarized from his truck, according to Associated Press sportswriter Steve Reed (h/t Huffington Post).

According to the AP, referring to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report, "Wilson reported robbers broke into his F250 truck. He says they stole a FN 57 handgun, a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, a Glock 23, and a Smith and Wesson Body Guard 380."

The truck door was damaged and $1,700 in weapons are now missing.

The report also says that police have no suspects and could not say whether or not the firearms are registered to Wilson.

Wilson doesn't play a big enough role on the Panthers for this to become an issue and it's not as though this is a Sam Hurd scandal in which he's going to have a huge impact on the locker room.

It's a serious matter, but one in which Wilson could by all means be a victim in. As long as everything checks out, his future with the Panthers shouldn't be in question.

Carolina has a huge opportunity to play spoiler to the Saints in New Orleans this week. Barring the Saints from stealing the No. 2 seed from San Francisco and closing out a rebuilding year with a 7-9 record would allow them to end the season on a high note.

They can't afford any distractions, but it's too early to consider this a major issue.
