Clemson Tigers: Happy Trails Cullen Harper

It has been a long season as a Clemson Tigers fan.

But if there is one thing we can thank the Almighty for, it is that the Gator Bowl loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Jan. 1 was the last game Cullen Harper will ever lace them up.

Harper (17-36, 206, 2 TD, 2 INT) was the MVP of the 2009 Gator Bowl, except he was Nebraska's Most Valuable Player.

It was vintage Harper from the beginning to the end.

Bad decisions, poor ball placement, and horrible pocket presence was the story line for this game.

Every single time there was a hint of pressure, Harper would get nervous and sprint out to his right.

If he would have just stepped up in the pocket a couple times, he would have given his team a chance. (Of course, he would have just missed the open receiver.)

One on occasion late in the fourth, he ran out-of-bounds five yards behind the line-of-scrimmage to put his team in a second-and-15 situation.

On another, the Tigers were going in for the go-ahead touchdown with a few minutes to play. On second-and-goal from the 10, Harper took a 16 yard sack.  That made it third-and-goal from the 26.

Those are freshman mistakes from a fifth-year senior.

And that pretty much tells the story of the entire season.

I know this is nothing new to Tigers fans, but is Will Korn really that bad that head coach Dabo Swinney wouldn't put him in to see if they could win the game?

I am a little worried about next year if that is the case.
