Report: Chizik to hire Oklahoma State RBs coachPosted by Evan Woodbery, Press-Register January 02, 2009 4:14 PM
Oklahoma State running backs coach Curtis Luper will join Auburn's coaching staff, according to a newspaper report in The Oklahoman.
Luper has been assistant head coach at OSU for the last four years. He also had stints at New Mexico, Texas A&M-Commerce, and Stephen F. Austin, where his tenure overlapped with Chizik's.
New Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn spent the last two seasons at Tulsa, so he was also likely familiar with Luper. His official OSU bio is here.
Chizik has now hired three coaches to be part of his on-field staff. In addition to Malzahn and Luper, linebackers coach James Willis was retained from Tommy Tuberville's staff.
