Throw out the records when the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars get together.

No seriously, please throw out the records.

The Titans rode four return touchdowns to a lackluster 38-20 victory over the Jaguars to close the 2012 season.

Titans head coach Mike Munchak possibly helped save his job with the victory to raise their record to 6-10 on the season, though many doubted his position was ever in doubt.

With nothing to play for but everything to prove, the Indianapolis Colts waxed the fading Houston Texans 28-16 to close the regular season.

The victory was inspirational for the Colts who celebrated the return of head coach Chuck Pagano in style. They dictated the pace of play the entire game and beat up the favored Texans in all three phases of the game.

The Colts opened the game strong with a 13-play, seven-minute drive ending with an Andrew Luck to Coby Fleener touchdown.

The Texans responded with a nearly eight-minute drive of their own, but it ended with a field goal. That became a repeated theme of the day for Houston. The Texans settled for three field goals in four attempts as they were unable to punch the ball home in the red zone against a normally generous Indy defense.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans square off at LP Field in Week 17 in a desperate race to see which franchise has a sadder end to its 2012 season.

To say that both teams have been disappointing is an understatement.

The Jaguars were never expected to be good, but more often than not they haven't even managed to be competitive. Everyone expected the offense to be terrible, but the defense regressed as well, leaving them with the worst record in football.

The Titans opened the year with a glimmer of hope for a playoff run, but the season came unraveled and the end result has been nothing short of embarrassing.

There are moments when it feels like a dream season is slipping away.

Today's Article of the Day comes from Rivers McCown of the Football Outsiders who breaks down the Houston Texans' loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

McCown artfully traces the roots of the defensive collapse that has befallen the Texans over the past month.

Much of the struggle can be traced to an ineffective pass rush and a decline in play from Johnathan Joseph who hasn't been healthy in months.

For most of the year, Indianapolis Colts fans were hoping the Houston Texans wouldn't have anything to play for in the season finale.

Who would have guessed it would be the Colts that would be snug and warm in their playoff beds while the Texans would still be scrambling to secure a bye?

The two teams play for the second time in three weeks on Sunday, so here's everything you need to know about the rematch.

What It Means

For Houston, a win would secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. It would also lock down a 6-0 record against the AFC South and mark the first time the Texans ever won in Indianapolis.

Chill. He's going to wind up in the Pro Bowl.

The NFL announced the rosters for the Pro Bowl and Andrew Luck wasn't on it.

The rookie sensation has to wait his turn behind the quarterbacks manning the three best teams in the conference.

Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Matt Schaub all got nods ahead of Luck.

While teammates Reggie Wayne (sixth selection) and Robert Mathis (fifth selection) both got invites to the postseason all-star game, Luck was left off the roster.

The Houston Texans, the team with the best record in the AFC, was rewarded with a bevy of honors as eight regulars were named to the Pro Bowl.

The NFL announced that five Texans will start for the AFC including Andre Johnson (sixth selection), Arian Foster (third selection) and Duane Brown.

Defensive player of the year front-runner J.J. Watt will join Johnathan Joseph (second selection) as starters.

Matt Schaub (second selection) edged out Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts in what was a mildly controversial but unquestionably correct decision. Schaub was obviously the better quarterback on the better team, but Luck is a name draw, something the Pro Bowl needs.
