Barack Obama won the election for President of the United States in November 2012, and if Nate Silver is right as he was back then, the New England Patriots will meet the Seattle Seahawks in a rematch in Super Bowl XLVII.
Silver joined ESPN's First Take to share his prediction.
As a political blogger for the New York Times, Silver's work is devoted to the use of numbers to predict future outcomes. He had a 100-percent accuracy rate in predicting how states would fall in the presidential election—a feat made more remarkable by the number of swing states (eight) in this year's election.
Silver pointed to Football Outsiders' advanced metrics as one tool he uses in helping predict games, and added, "The point differential is a better predictor going forward than just the wins and losses for how a team will do."
